Current Structure

The faculty of the psychology department of the School of Social Sciences at Tsinghua University include 5 professors, 10 associate professors. Each year the faculty of the department publish more than 50 academic articles on SCI/SSCI/CSSCI level academic journals. They have received national prestigious 973 Research Projects sponsored by the Chinese National Science Foundation ( CNSF) as well as multiple findings from CNSF and Chinese Social Science Foundation(CSSF).
    The main research areas of the psychology department are social cultural psychology, cognitive sciences and health psychology. The department is also internationally known for its leading role in promoting positive psychology in China. Its focus on engineering psychology and national deference related psychological research projects has made itself one of the power houses in these areas in China. Since the re-establishment of the psychology department of the School of Social Sciences at Tsinghua University in 2008, the department has become internationally renowned center for positive psychology and engineering psychology. It has hosted 4 international conferences on positive psychology and built the world first research lab in happiness technology inside the Tsinghua Science and Technology Park.
     The graduates of the department have also become increasingly visible in China. According to a recent survey ranking the psychology departments in China, this department is now ranked third in China for its research teaching and academic reputation.

The department’s diverse student body is currently enrolls undergraduate students,master degree graduate students and doctoral graduate students as well as postdoctoral fellows and visiting scholars around the world.
     The current chair of the department is Professor Liu Jia, and the associate chairs are Associate professors Wu Zhen and Associate professor Zhang Dan.
